Nyanpire

Gonzo came back with a new anime with a “nyan” since their last works back in 2009, Shangri-La and Saki. The anime is based from the doujinshi, Nyanpire: The Gothic World of Nyanpire. As a big fan of cats, there’s no thinking twice in watching the series. The character designs (heck, most part of the anime itself) is cute. Here’s the trailer.
So the story follows the story of a black cat, saved by a vampire who gave it blood before its demise and started to live with its owner, Misaki. There’s also this cat, Nyatenshi, who’s voiced by Jun Fukuyama, where this cat is a womanizer.
Got a good look of the eye-patched samurai cat? *Cough Masamune cough*? Why a samurai? I wouldn’t know. LOL! To this date, there are already 6 episodes of it with each spanning to 5 mins per episode.
I highly recommend this to people wanting to unwind a little during breaks.
Black Rock Shooter OVA

The long wait for the promised OVA of Black Rock Shooter was finally quenched last Saturday (July 24). After a month delay, the anime was brought to the eager fans.
The anime opened with a brief battle between Black Rock Shooter and Black Gold Saw in which the latter thrusting her sword on the former, concluding the fight.
Kuroi Mato is then introduced. On her first day of school she befriends the timid Takanashi Yomi. From this point on, the OVA cuts between the girls and BRS’s trekking to an unknown fortress.
Though briefly, another character, Strength existing in the same dimension as BRS, Black Gold Saw and Dead Master is presented.
The wait of the OVA was definitely worth the wait. The strongest point of the anime was the style of animation done. Background art was crisp and was anything but dull. However, the voice acting could’ve been better. Story wise, the writers have successfully crafted a plot in which the fans would want more out of the characters. I can’t say much about the story since the OVA is the opening of a much larger story.
The anime was worth the wait and I would want to see more of it. I bet there are already thousands of fans out there camping for the launching of the anime series. 
International Saimoe League 2010

It’s the time of the year where moe anime female characters grind (YEAH!) each other to win the spot as the top moe. Well, it already started. Yours truly forgot about that the tournament even commences at the very start of the year. Currently, the tournament is at the Amethyst Round since it is now May.
Right on, my loves, 34 contestants from the 126 candidates have already been committed for the International Saimoe League 2010.

This year, 16 characters are automatically moved to the contestant bracket under the terms of the characters being in the top 4 at the end of the 2009′s competition, being semifinalists from Japan’s 2009 Anime Saimoe Tournament, being the contestants who have won Kore’s Best Moe Tournament 2009 and contestants from ISML 2009′s separate comeptition, the Double Elimination tournament.
ISL is an annual online voting competition which pits in the most popular moe characters. Votes, obviously, are cast by fans. Voting is done on a schedule basis so fans have to check in to the site daily.
The technicalities of the tournament will really leave the beginners confused, ’cause for one, some of the tournament’s rules change by the year and second, and characters have to go through quite complex procedures before they are to be accepted into the Regular Season.
